Dr. Viker has retired from full-time practice as of 2023. She will be in the clinic seeing patients a few days a month; please call the office for availability.
Dr. Melissa Viker founded The Eye Doctors, Inc. in 1993 to provide convenient and comprehensive eye care. Dr. Viker grew up in Mahnomen, Minnesota and obtained her Bachelors of Arts in Biology from Concordia College. She then completed her Doctor of Optometry degree at Pacific University, near Portland, Oregon. Dr. Viker worked with an ophthalmologist (eye surgeon) in South Dakota before moving back to her home state to start The Eye Doctors, Inc. She has served as a clinical investigator on numerous contact lens and contact lens solution clinical trials and has done speaking engagements at the local and national levels. Dr. Viker was a collegiate golfer and continues to golf when the Minnesota weather allows it. She is an avid wooden boat collector and has had mid-century boats refurbished, which she enjoys taking out on the lakes up North during the summer months. She resides in Eden Prairie with her husband, Jeff and daughter, Tori.
